ALIVE IN CHRIST
(Inspired by “Grave Robber” performed by Crowder)
The song “Grave Robber” by Crowder paints a vivid picture of the transforming power of Christ’s resurrection. It reminds us that we are not simply improved or reformed when we come to Christ—we are brought from death to life. Like the lyrics declare, we were once lost in rebellion, chained by sin, and unable to save ourselves. But then, like a thief in the night, Jesus stepped in. He robbed the grave of its claim on us and replaced despair with hope.
This theme of resurrection is not only about the final day when graves will open and the dead in Christ will rise. It’s about the present reality of living as those who have already been made alive in Him. The apostle Paul declared, “You were dead in your transgressions and sins … but because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ” (Ephesians 2:1,4–5). Our testimony mirrors the song’s refrain: washed, forgiven, and set free, not because of our strength, but because of His grace.
In daily life, this truth reshapes how we see ourselves and the world. That coworker who seems far from God? Jesus can roll the stone away. That habit that feels impossible to break? The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us. Even when culture tempts us to see Christianity as outdated or weak, we know it is the power of God for salvation. Every day becomes an opportunity to live out resurrection life—to show that the grave has no hold on us.
So today, let us walk as people who have been stolen by the Grave Robber, alive in Christ and set free for His glory.
