IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL

“Our scars are a sign of grace in our lives.” These lyrics remind us that suffering does not invalidate our faith—it reveals its roots. In the workplace, home, or hospital room, the wounds we carry often become testimonies of God’s sustaining grace. When pain runs deep and nights feel dark, God’s promises still hold firm. His presence in our past struggles gives us hope for future battles.

The song declares, “You lead us through battles, You lead us to blessing.” This affirms the providence of God in every season. Whether in scarcity or abundance, He is not absent. He is forming character, growing fruitfulness, and making His people radiant with trust. Faith is not forged on mountaintops—it is refined in valleys. And in the valley of the shadow of death, we fear no evil, because He is with us (Psalm 23:4).

God’s people are called to declare, “It is well with my soul,” not because circumstances are perfect, but because Christ is present. The Apostle Paul wrote from prison, “I have learned the secret of being content…” (Philippians 4:12-13). That secret was trust. Trust in God’s ways. Trust in His Name. When we rest in that truth, peace follows—even amid chaos.

Let this be our song through every high and low: It is well—not by sight, but by faith.

PRAYER

Father, thank You for walking with me through every battle and blessing. I surrender today into Your hands. Help me trust Your ways and rest in Your faithfulness, even when I do not understand the outcome.

APPLICATION

When difficult situations arise today, pause and say out loud: “It is well with my soul.” Let that be a declaration of faith.
