The words spoken over us can become the scripts we live by. When a label like “unworthy” or “broken” is repeated enough, it can seep into the soul. That’s why the message in this song is such a powerful reminder: our identity is not defined by what others say—or even what we say about ourselves. It is defined by what God says.
We live in a world saturated with noise. Social media, gossip, internal fears—all scream for our attention. But there’s a greater voice. The One who made us says we are loved, chosen, held, and forgiven. These aren’t feel-good affirmations; they are unshakable truths rooted in Scripture. When the lies get loud, we are invited to anchor our hearts in what the Lord declares about us.
To live by what He says means trading fear for faith, shame for freedom, and lies for lasting truth. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He didn’t argue with the devil—He quoted Scripture. We are called to do the same. The battle for identity is real, but the victory has already been won. We don’t have to prove our worth. We simply need to remember whose we are.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You that what You say about me is true and eternal. When doubt creeps in or old lies return, help me listen only to Your voice. Remind me daily that I am loved, chosen, held, and forgiven—not because of who I am, but because of who You are.
APPLICATION
Write down one truth from Scripture about your identity in Christ and place it where you’ll see it throughout the day.
