LOVED BEYOND MEASURE

The song “True” asks the simple yet profound question: “Can it be true? You love me how You do?” These words point to the heart of the gospel—that God’s love is not earned, but freely given. In a world that constantly demands proof of worth through achievement, appearance, or approval, the reminder that believers are deeply loved by God is both countercultural and life-changing.
This truth has power in daily life. When criticism or rejection comes, Christians do not need to grasp for validation. God has already declared His people valuable, worthy, and chosen. Even when weaknesses or sins are exposed, His steadfast love calls them to repentance and restores them to fellowship with Him.
Scripture anchors this reality in 1 John 3:1: “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” The apostle John emphasized not only the magnitude of God’s love but also the secure identity it provides. To be a child of God is not a temporary title that can be revoked—it is a permanent reality grounded in Christ’s finished work on the cross.
Living in that assurance transforms how believers walk through a broken world. Instead of responding to hostility with bitterness, they can reflect God’s love by showing patience, forgiveness, and grace. Instead of striving endlessly for the applause of others, they can rest in the unshakable approval of their Heavenly Father. And instead of fearing the future, they can live with confidence that nothing “in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39, NIV).
“True” reminds us that God’s love is more than a concept—it is an anchor. The truth is not only that He loves, but that He loves personally, deeply, and faithfully.
PRAYER
Father, thank You for lavishing Your love on me through Christ. Help me to live each day secure in that love and eager to reflect it to others.
APPLICATION
Write “Loved by God” on a card or note and place it where you will see it often today as a reminder of your unshakable identity in Him.
